This course provides essential skills for the safe operation of a standard boiler‚ meeting high-risk work licensing requirements under WHS Regulations. Participants will learn boiler start-up, monitoring, shutdown, storage, and inspection procedures, focusing on single-fuel boilers without advanced components like superheaters or economisers. The course covers operational risk management, safety protocols, and adherence to national standards, ensuring only certified personnel operate or maintain standard boilers.

This course covers the skills required for the safe operation of an advanced boiler‚ in line with high-risk work licensing under WHS regulations. Participants will learn key processes including boiler start-up, handover, monitoring, shutdown, storage, and inspection. Advanced boilers involve complex systems with multiple fuel sources, preheaters, superheaters, economisers, and modulating controls. Emphasis is placed on operational safety, maintenance, and risk management, ensuring only qualified personnel handle these systems as per manufacturer and national standards.
 

This course provides the essential skills to safely operate a steam turbine‚ meeting high-risk work licensing requirements. Participants will learn to plan operations, conduct safety checks, start, monitor, and shut down steam turbines. The course covers steam turbines with any power outputs (except a steam turbine that produces a power output of less than 500 kW), multi-wheeled designs, speeds above 3600 RPM, and turbines with condensers or multi-stage heat exchange. Emphasis is placed on operational safety and adherence to national standards, ensuring only certified personnel operate these complex systems.
