What is a high-risk work licence, and why do I need one?
A high-risk work (HRW) licence is a mandatory certification under WHS laws required for operating boilers, steam turbines, and other high-risk equipment. You need one to legally and safely perform these tasks in the workplace.
How long does each course take to complete?
Course durations vary. Standard and advanced boiler courses typically take 5 days including assessment. Steam turbine courses may take up to 10 days. Check individual course guides for exact schedules.
What qualifications do I need to enrol?
You must be at least 18 years old and have basic English literacy and numeracy skills. Some courses may require prior mechanical or trade experience. We assess eligibility during registration.
Is the training nationally recognised?

What is the assessment process like?
Assessment includes a combination of written theory tests, practical demonstrations, and verbal questioning. You must demonstrate competency in both safety and operation procedures.
